Physiotherapy (also called physical therapy) is a healthcare profession focused on improving movement, function, pain and overall well-being. Treatments include hands-on therapy, exercise/rehabilitation and education. It not only helps people recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions or pain but also prevents future injuries by addressing pain, stiffness, weakness and mobility issues.

A physiotherapist uses various techniques to help restore function including:

  • exercise therapy: strengthening, stretching and mobility exercises

  • manual therapy: hands-on techniques like massage, joint mobilization, IMS dry-needling and red light laser therapy
posture & movement training: improving balance, coordination and ergonomics

  • lifestyle education: preventing injuries and managing conditions

Physiotherapy can help with:

  • muscle & joint pain: back pain, arthritis, sports injuries or sprain/strains

  • post-surgical recovery: joint replacements,
    spinal or extremity surgeries

  • rehabilitation after injuries or accidents: fractures or whiplash
